The Oracle of the Hidden Flow
Interactive installation – Where currents remember what remains

At the centre stands the Goddess of Ocean Currents – a hybrid being of machine and cyborg, long sustained by microplastics, who responds as an oracle to human input with poetic texts. The installation revolves around ocean pollution, the fragile balance of global ocean currents (AMOC) and progressive global warming.
Visitors engage with the goddess via an interface. They are invited to select an oracle object (shell, seaweed, driftwood, plastic fragment or heavy fuel oil), breathe firmly into a funnel and formulate a wish or intention via text input. The goddess responds with AI-generated lyrical prose that appears live on the display, alongside currents of light, sound and breathing movement that reflect her inner state and the forces of the sea.
The installation consists of translucent bodies and tentacles made of plastic foil, lit from within by LED animations and gently «breathing». Acoustically, the sound of waves, underwater noises and mysterious sounds create a subtle resonant space.

Im Zentrum steht die Göttin der Meeresströmungen – ein hybrides Wesen aus Maschine und Cyborg, die sich längst von Mikroplastik ernährt und als Orakel auf menschliche Eingaben mit poetischen Texten antwortet. Die Installation kreist um Ozeanverschmutzung, das fragile Gleichgewicht globaler Meeresströmungen (AMOC) und die fortschreitende Klimaerwärmung.
Besucher:innen treten über ein Interface in Kontakt mit der Göttin. Sie werden aufgefordert, ein Orakelobjekt auszuwählen (Muschel, Seetang, Schwemmholz, Kunststofffragment oder Schweröl), fest in einen Trichter zu hauchen und per Texteingabe einen Wunsch oder eine Intention zu formulieren. Die Göttin antwortet mit KI-generierter lyrischer Prosa, die live auf dem Display erscheint, sowie mit Strömungen aus Licht, Klang und Atembewegung, die ihren inneren Zustand und die Kräfte des Meeres widerspiegeln.
Die Installation besteht aus transluzenten Körpern und Tentakeln aus Kunststofffolie, die von innen durch LED-Animationen zum Leuchten gebracht werden und sanft «atmen». Akustisch bilden Wellenrauschen, Unterwasserklänge und geheimnisvolle Geräusche einen dezenten Resonanzraum.
